Thank you to all our family, friends, and neighbors for a GREAT 4th annual BBQ. It was a beautiful, cool evening with lots of food and drink. I know our boys had a blast and were exhausted. Unfortunately we have already packed up our personal PC so it may be awhile before we are in our new home and can upload photos - I have some great ones of the kids wearing the fire fighter's outfits. Will there be a 5th annual BBQ next year....time will only tell :-)
This week our life is consumed with moving - and somewhere in between we need to work, go to (2) soccer practices, (2) football practices, elementary school orientation on Wednesday, final walk-though of our new house tonight....and get our renters settled. Might be a busy week.

Stranded in LAX
I guess there could be worse places to be stranded - a Siberian prison comes to mind!
Trying to save the company some dollars I decided to fly from MSP-LAX-OAK this week instead of taking a direct flight to SFO. The direct flight was $1200 - the alternative was only $425. Now I am paying for it. On the way out Monday we got stuck on the tarmac in LAX for 60 minutes as the ground crew went to get "more weight" to balance our plane....Hmmm. Today I arrived in LAX to find my connection to MSP cancelled! UGH! I was hoping to get home before the boys went to bed. Luckily being a frequent traveler I went to the top of the re-booking list and only had to wait 4 hours - plus I kept my confirmed first class seat, got a free meal voucher, and $50 for future travel. Not to bad - of course LAX is packed like sardines and there are no Hollywood types in site. And the best news - I get to fly the same route in 2 weeks. Let's pray there is no deja vu.

We are excited to announce that we have received confirmation that the Lakeville Fire Department will be bringing a truck to our party for the kids - not b/c they are concerned about Shawn's grilling capabilities - at 5pm.

- USA beads - 1st place
- Halloween crafts - 3rd place
- Bird mask - 1st place
- R2D2 Beads - 4th place
And Carter made:

- Bead lizards - participant ribbon
- Lego boat - participant ribbon
- Animals drawing - 2nd place
Looking sharp -

Bike Accident
Logan had his first major bike accident last night. A couple of days ago they put down tar and loose asphalt on our street. Logan went around a corner too fast and his bike slid out from under him and he landed on his face and knee. He was screaming/bleeding so bad the neighbors came out of their houses to see what happened. Logan is our drama boy but the knee is pretty ugly. We kept him home from school today for some TLC.

The Wiggles Live in Concert!!!
Carter and Shawn went to see the Wiggles at the State Theater on Tuesday night. Amazing that these Australian Dads can sell out (2) shows in MSP with tickets between $40-$375 each! We had 11th row seats packed in amongst a couple hundred other 2-5 year olds. Carter loved the show and was dancing/singing throughout the show. I will post some videos in a seperate post.

The rumors are true - we are moving!
The blog may be a "little less active" over the next couple of weeks as our lives become "more active" - we are moving! After a couple years of searching we found a great home in our dream location - The Territory. It will be an easy transition for the boys as it is the same elementary school and Logan has lots of friends who already live in the development. It is kids heaven with 7+ miles of biking trails, private lodge for the residents with many planned events (i.e. back to school party, Halloween party, etc.), playgrounds and a community pool. Here is a video link to the community website:

We close at the end of August -just in time for school. The house is amazing on a great lot. Everything is finished so we can quickly move in (professional window treatments, Trex deck, landscaping, lower level, etc.) with no need for immediate updates. The front is a little "plain" but our goal is to update it next spring/summer and add a full wrap around porch with columns to make it a little more visually appealing.
***If you know anyone looking for a house to own or rent in Lakeville let us know - we have a great one available***
