More pictures from Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos - AMAZING vacation!!!

We just returned from a week at the "Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort." Our expectations for this vacation were really high based on TripAdvisor reviews - and the fact we had never stayed at a 6 diamond property with the kids before. Our expectations were not just met...but exceeded.  Beaches is owned by Sandals - their "family resort category" - and this resort was above and beyond what we experienced at Sandals in the past. Some quick highlights:

(19) restuarants - all inclusive. Everything from made-to-order sushi, to Japanese Tapanaki, to mouth watering rib-eye steaks; and don't forget the seafood!
12 pools, one HUGE waterpark with multiple slides, a surf simulator, and lots of swim-up bars that only serve kid drinks
Amazing kid program. Logan took full advantage of the structured kids program. Some days we would drop him off at 9am and pick him up for a quick dinner before he was off for nightime activities with the kids. The counselors were great and really got to know the kids. The scheduled activities ranged from snorkeling, to ocean cruises, dodgeball, tie-dye, dance parties in Club Liquid, talent shows, tennis lessons, etc. Carter participated some - but preferred to hang with mom and dad. Logan is definitely our social one - he has an innate need to ALWAYS be with other kids.
An xbox garage with 20+ stations for the kids to play in whenever they wanted
The "jungle room." Kid space filled with ping-pong, pool, air hockey tables, etc.
Shawn learned to sail and took the family out a couple of times
Carter loved the multiple croquet stations, full-size chess boards, tennis courts, etc.
Logan met some friends from England and got to play in their family Cricket match
Our family participated in the beach olympics and were on the winning team - and almost died from heat stroke after the ocean kyak portion

We are now going to enter a week of detox to cleanse our bodies from eating way too much food. The kids were so sad to leave and I have a feeling this may become a regular resort destination for our family.

One note if you are considering a vaction to Beaches - all the staff are amazing.  They will never pass you without a "hello" or "can I assist you with something." "No" is not in their vocabulary. If you want something to eat or drink that is not on the menu - they will find it for you. If you ask for directions, they will not just point it out, but walk you to the destination - even if it is 20 minutes on the other side of the property. One PM some cute girls in the beach house by us made a "missing" poster for their hand-cut/designed cocunut that was taken from their deck. Once the staff heard they were passing out posters they quickly found a cocunut tree, cut down multiple cocunuts, and decorated them for the girls...this is just one example of the incredible customer service.

Quick trip to Duluth 2 weeks ago

Fun helping grandma and grandpa pick raspberries, biking along the lake, swimming at Park Point and enjoying some of our favorite restaurants.
